Accessibility
This site targets WCAG 2.1 Level AA, with the measures listed below and a direct channel for reporting anything that falls short.
Commitment
Grafton Smiles is committed to making this website usable by everyone, including people using screen readers, keyboard navigation, magnification and other assistive technology. Our target is conformance with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 at Level AA, and the site was built with that target in the construction rather than patched toward it afterward.
Measures
Concretely: semantic HTML structure with one heading hierarchy per page and labeled landmarks; text alternatives for meaningful images, with photography published only alongside written alt text; color pairings checked against WCAG AA contrast ratios on both the light and dark sections of the design; layouts that reflow for zoom and small screens without horizontal scrolling; links and buttons reachable and operable by keyboard, with visible focus; motion and animation that respect the "reduced motion" setting in your device or browser, under which the site's animations switch off; and forms and interactive elements provided with programmatic labels. Third-party services linked from the site, such as online booking and maps, are governed by their own accessibility practices.
Feedback
Accessibility is maintained, not achieved once: new content is checked against the same standards, and we welcome reports of anything that does not work with your technology. If you encounter a barrier on this site, or if you need any practice material in an alternative format, contact us and we will provide the information or assistance promptly: (508) 839-6464, or by mail at Grafton Smiles, 82 Worcester St Unit C, North Grafton, MA 01536. Patients who need accommodations for visits, mobility, communication or otherwise, are warmly encouraged to tell the front desk when booking so the visit is prepared properly.
